Declaring the Retailing and Consumer Science Pre-Major
If you are interested in declaring your major to Pre-RCSC, we ask that all students complete a Pre-RCSC Major Information session online. All students must have a 2.0 GPA or above in order to change their major - if you complete the session but do not have a 2.0 or above, we will not be able to process your change of major form and you will be notified via email.
Once you have completed the online session, please allow up to 5 business days for the change of major request to process. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 5 business days please email the RCSC advisor.

Online Pre-RCSC Major Information Session and Change of Major Form - you will view a presentation, take a short quiz, and submit a change of major form online.
Once your change of major is processed, please schedule an appointment to meet with the RCSC advisor via the online Advising appointment scheduling system here!

Declaring the Retailing and Consumer Science Minor
The Retailing and Consumer Science (RCSC) minor is complimentary to Pre-Business and business-orientated degree programs.
This minor is open to all UofA majors but is ideally suited to students who want to pursue retail entrepreneurship or specialized careers in the retailing sector including Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Decision Science, Information Management, and Supply Chain Management. Courses in the RCSC Minor include classes from the BS Retailing and Consumer Science pre-major. Additional RCSC electives provide opportunities for students to focus on specific areas of interest.

Progression from Pre-RCSC to RCSC major
See Application for Progression under RCSC Forms. Students will apply for progression during their last semester of RCSC pre-major coursework, typically when enrolled in RCSC 216. Once you have progressed into the RCSC major you will pay a $250 program fee at the start of each semester.
