NPDES General Permit for CAFOs
Logbook
In the Arizona NPDES General permit for CAFOs,
Section IV. Permit Requirements lists the requirements for the
BMP plan and record keeping. This chapter of the notebook contains
worksheets to assist in determining if the manure management system
is in compliance and in keeping the necessary records.
Note: This logbook does not assist the operator
in developing a Nutrient Management Plan)(NMP) or include calculations
for figuring application rates of manure or wastewater. What is
included is for record keeping purposes only.
Part IV. B. 1. c. i through iii: and Part
IV. B. 2.: The Animal Waste Management System Checklist (page 6-3)
will help producers determine what is required and what is needed
on the operation to comply with those requirements. If the operation
is lacking some requirements, the producer will likely need to consult
with an engineer or conservation planner.
Part IV. B. 1. c. iv., vi. through x., and
xii: Pages 6-5 through 6-17 are provided to help producers development
the complete BMP plan. Included are worksheets on:

required to be kept, such as copies of the NOI, permit, BMP plan,
NMP plan, and other records required (see worksheets listed above).
Part IV. B. 4. b. & c. require monitoring of the BMP plan or
elements of the BMP plan. The following worksheets were developed
to assist producers to complete the monitoring report. Please note
the varying frequencies of the reports.
