3.  State Regulations

State regulations were implemented to protect groundwater and surface water.  ADEQ inspects AFOs and other agricultural producers to determine compliance with these regulations.  This section is intended to educate AFO owners on state regulations and prepare them for inspections.  Included are the following:

• State water quality regulations
• Summary of ADEQ’s compliance inspection program 
• Notice of Inspection Rights
• Inspection checklist used by ADEQ inspectors
• Possible outcomes of the inspection 

In case an inspection leads to a Notice of Opportunity to Correct (NOC) or Notice of Violation (NOV), the Financial and Technical Assistance Agencies section provides a list of agencies, consultants, and laboratories that can assist in addressing the notice.  Federal financial assistance programs may not be available to facilities with NOVs.
