Ben Jeffcoat

My name is Ben and I am a Junior majoring in Biosystems Engineering with a minor in Sustainable Plant Systems.

I love my major because although it is challenging at times, I am able to learn the skills that I need to make a difference solving issues that are very important to me.

This is year 2 of being a peer mentor for me! In addition to this, I was an intern at the UA Controlled Environment Agriculture Center (CEAC) last semester and look forward to becoming more active within clubs related to my major this semester. Outside of academics I enjoy writing and recording music, hiking/foraging, and hope to start my own personal garden this year.

One thing I love about this University and CALES in particular is that you meet so many different people and yet they are all just as kind, smart, and welcoming. I hope to extend the warmth and kindness that others have to me by connecting students with the proper on-campus resources to aid in their academic and personal journeys.
