Ben Jeffcoat

CALES Peer Mentor
Biosystems Engineering

Hello, my name is Ben Jeffcoat (he/him) and I am a sophomore majoring in Biosystems Engineering.

I chose this major after reading the book “The Hidden Life of Trees” and watching hours of youtube videos related to mycology. This initially fostered my interest in emerging science relating to ecosystem interconnectivity and led to my passion for ecological systems.

Last year as a freshman I did not have the time to get involved in the club I wanted to be a part of due to class scheduling conflicts with one of my classes, however this year I hope to be a part of the mycocats which is a mycology club on campus.

In my free time I love to make music, get outdoors, and spend time with my cat Dusk. You may even catch me doing open mics around the Tucson area! I am always here to help.

As an engineering student, I know how hard some of those STEM classes can be so please don't hesitate to schedule a meeting with me!

 I have availability on

Monday: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
