All new (undergraduate & graduate) students are invited and encouraged to attend welcome events — free of charge. We can't wait to see you!
Welcome to the College of Agriculture, Life & Environmental Sciences (CALES)! In CALES, we like to celebrate and recognize academic milestones — your first semester as a Wildcat is just that! New Student Welcome is designed to connect you with peers, resources and help you create support networks.
Destination AZ: Next Stop CALES
This event is a mandatory event part of Destination Arizona (Orientation); no RSVP needed
When: Friday, August 21 | 2-4 p.m.
Where: Environment and Natural Resources 2 Building
- Kick off your college journey with the entire incoming class in one room!
- Hear from college leadership, get your questions answered during a live Q&A with current students and staff, and discover helpful tips for making the most of your first semester.
New Student Open House
When: Saturday, August 22 | 1-3 p.m. (drop-in anytime!)
Where: Forbes Building, Lobby
- Grab a snack and explore the supports we have for you at the Forbes Building, your CALES homebase!
- Don’t miss out — swing by to grab your exclusive class of 2026 t-shirt!
- Families & supporters of new students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Student Success Ice Cream Social
When: Wednesday, August 26 | 2-4 p.m.
Where: Forbes Building, Lobby
- Discover the free resources available to you as a CALES student including: academic coaching, mental health support, wellness communities, career guidance, and opportunities to get involved in student clubs and organizations!
- Cool off with a sweet treat & good company (GF and DF options available).
- New & returning students in CALES are encouraged to attend!
Graduate Student Mixer
When: Thursday, August 27 | TBA
Where: Forbes Building, Lobby
- Connect with fellow graduate students, staff & faculty
Club Fair
When: Tuesday, September 1 | 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Where: Bear Down Gymnasium
- Explore the over 25 student-led clubs & organizations in CALES who are looking for new members just like YOU!
- Featured clubs include: Sigma Alpha (professional agricultural sorority), Pre-Veterinary Club, TREND Fashion Events Board, Cutting Edge Sewing Club, Fish & Wildlife Society, Microbiology Club, National Retail Student Association & many more!
