Destination AZ: Next Stop CALES

This event is a mandatory event part of Destination Arizona (Orientation); no RSVP needed

When: Friday, August 22 | 2-3:30 p.m. 
Where: Grand Ballroom, Student Union Memorial Center 

• Kick off your college journey with the entire incoming class in one room! 
• Hear from college leadership, get your questions answered during a live Q&A with current students and staff, and discover helpful tips for making the most of your first semester. 

New Student Open House

When: Saturday, August 23 | 1-3 p.m. (drop-in anytime!)
Where: Forbes Building, Lobby

• Grab a snack and walk through your class schedule with the support of the CALES Peer Mentors and Ambassadors.
• At 2 p.m., take a break and join the CALES Wellness Leaders for a fun student-led wellness activity.
• Don’t miss out — swing by to grab your exclusive class of 2025 t-shirt!
• Families & supporters of new students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Student Success Ice Cream Social 

When: Thursday, August 28 | 3-4:30 p.m. 
Where: Forbes Building, Lobby

• Discover the free resources available to you as a CALES student including: academic coaching, mental health and wellness support, career guidance, and opportunities to get involved in student clubs and organizations.
• Cool off with a sweet treat & good company (GF and DF options available).
• New & returning students in CALES are encouraged to attend!

First Gen Fall Welcome Mixer  

When: Thursday, September 4 | 4-5:30 p.m. 
Where: Forbes Building, Lobby

• Connect with fellow first-gen peers, faculty, staff and supporters while discovering resources designed to help you navigate university life from a first-gen perspective.
• Take a guided tour of the First Gen Den — an exclusive study and community space just for first-gen students.
• New & returning students encouraged to attend! 

Am I a First-Gen Student? A first-generation college student is defined as a student whose parent(s) or guardian(s) did not have the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree or students whose parents/guardians attended college outside the U.S.

When: Thursday, September 11 | 5-6:30 p.m. 
Where: Environment & Natural Resources 2 (ENR2), Courtyard 

• Explore 30+ student-led clubs & organizations connected to the College of Agriculture, Life & Environmental Sciences.
• Featured clubs include: Sigma Alpha (professional agricultural sorority), Pre-Veterinary Club, TREND Fashion Club, Food Science Club, Cutting Edge Sewing Club, Fish & Wildlife Society, Microbiology Club, Alpha Gamma Rho (professional fraternity), National Retail Federation Student Association & many more!
