Want better grades? Get involved! It’s true: Studies show you’re more likely to earn higher grades when you’re involved. You’ll also have a more fulfilling college experience, build a community of peers, and develop professional networks. Involvement at the UA isn’t like high school extracurriculars. Here, you’ll explore, lead, plan, budget, create, and apply what you've learned in class. Our recommendation? Join a club, explore a leadership program, find a great research or internship opportunity, land a job, expand your horizons, and attend CALES student events!

CALES Connections
What is CALES Connections?
CALES Connections brings undergraduate students in our college, new and seasoned, together through on-campus mentorship! Powered by Mentor Collective, an international online mentoring community, CALES Connections matches new students, freshman and transfers alike, with current, trained, undergraduate student mentors. As a mentee or mentor, you'll connect with undergraduates that have common interests, academics, professional aspirations, background, and more. Sign up today via the links below and get connected!
What will a mentor and mentee discuss?
- How will my major impact my professional options?
- How do I balance the demands of school, sleep, and socializing?
- How can I set myself up for academic, social, and career success?
- How do I make connections with peers and professional contacts?
- And more!
Expectations for being a part of CALES Connections mentorship?
- Meet a few times a month, either through video chat or an in-person meetup (recommended)
- Mentors: connect with your mentee to help them maintain their success should they have questions, concerns, or uncertainties
