Figuring out college comes with real challenges, and we believe we're stronger together! We’re looking for students who are ready to grow their leadership skills by making a real difference on campus by supporting student well-being and belonging. 

Our mission is to bring students together for meaningful connection and to experience holistic and proactive well-being. We are here to help every Wildcat feel supported, connected, and ready to thrive.

What do Wellness Leaders do?

  • Lead our Elevate Evenings initiative to foster a campus culture of of well-being
  • Learn and apply the science of prosocial leadership
  • Strengthen their own wellness approach and expertise
  • Develop and lead fun, relaxing, and integrative wellness activities at Elevate Evenings
  • Holistic wellness themes: emotional, social, physical, spiritual, financial, social and more

What is Elevate Evenings?

  • Our largest college proactive and holistic wellness initiative
  • How we build meaningful connection, share dinner, and "elevate" the wellness journey of UA Wildcats!

  • Experience an applied and hands-on leadership experience
  • Receive professional training and mentoring to grow your wellness expertise
  • Build your resume and learn valuable leadership skills and increased confidence
  • Be apart of the positive and meaningful change you want to see on campus
  • Become a stronger you, both personally and professionally
  • Earn internship credit (available, but not required)!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Motivated to increase campus well-being
  • Desire to be an effective leader
  • Understands importance of belonging
  • Welcoming and kind with others
  • Punctual and well organized
  • Successfully completed 2 UA semesters
  • Enrolled at UA for fall 26 & spring 27

Wellness Leader Commitment

1) This is a full academic year (both fall & spring semesters)

2) Attend 3 Wellness Leader Trainings:

  • ZOOM - Wed. Aug. 5th, 5:30 - 8:00pm
  • In-Person: Wed. Aug 26th, 5:30 - 8:00pm
  • In-Person: Wed. Sep 2rd, 5:30 - 6:30pm

3) Lead Elevate Evenings: 

  • Fall 26: Sep. 9th - Nov. 18th, Wednesdays 5:30-8:00pm
  • Spring 27: Jan. 27 - Apr 14th, Wednesdays 5:30-8:00pm
  • We break for all holidays and school breaks

Yearly Time Commitment: 

  • 8.5 training hours
  • 45 (minimum) service hours
  • 16 planning hours

  • How do I apply?
    • Complete the online application above
  • Do I need previous leadership experience?
    • No - it does help, but all new Wellness Leaders receive leadership training
  • Do you have to be in a specific major?
    • No - we are open to all majors
  • Can I be a Wellness Leader for only one semester?
    • Not typically, since it is a two semester commitment
    • Rare exceptions may be granted under special circumstances
  • Is this a paid leadership role?
    • While there are many benefits, this is an unpaid volunteer role
    • One popular perk is that you get free dinner each week at Elevate Evenings!
    • You also get an official Wellness Leader polo and name badge
  • Can first year students be Wellness Leaders?
    • Not yet - a minimum requirement is the successful completion of 2 UA semesters
  • What are the training and service hour requirements?

  • Who supervises the Wellness Leadership Team?
    • Ryan Daily, CALES Director of Student Wellness
    • Who is a Licensed Mental Health Professional with 20+ years of experience
