College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Arizona

Interest is based upon the natural impulses.
Things which affect ourselves, others around us or humanity at large are typically interesting.
Interest increases with an increase in related knowledge.
Interest increases with the acquisition of an ability or skill.
