Linkages between Climate Change and Desertification:
Smith & Huxman
The upper part of this photograph shows a scarred and devegetated landscape after a range fire caused primarily by the presence of red brome. This exotic invasive grass is now widespread in the Mojave and Sonoran deserts, posing a threat to native vegetation. Unburned Mojave Desert vegetation is shown in the foreground. |
