Linkages between Cultural Diversity and Biodiversity
Argan woodland management is crucial to Berber life in southwestern Moroccan villages such as this one. The subsistence of the Berber villages, or douars, depends on oil produced from the argan fruit. In addition, the tree functions as a pillar that supports regional environmental stability; thin limestone soil conservation is one of its multiple roles. | ![]() |
