Linkages between Cultural Diversity and Biodiversity
Araar trees (Tetraclinis articulata), the single species representative of a North African endemic gymnosperm genus, cover the low hills of coastal, southwestern Morocco. Argania spinosa, another relic species endemic to Morocco, is found in valleys between the hills. The argan tree has tremendous socio-economic significance to rural populations of the region. | ![]() |
