The Frances McClelland Partnership Award is given to honor an individual who exemplifies the meaning of working in partnership with community to improve the lives of children, youth and families. The individual is committed to improving the well-being of children, youth, and families. The individual embodies the strength, dedication, vision and passion that Frances McClelland exhibited throughout their life. This award is for an individual who advocates to improve the lives of people in Southern Arizona and the world on a daily basis.
Marisol Flores-Aguirre (left), EMBA, is the Executive Director of YWCA's Microbusiness Advancement Center (MAC). She was promoted to this position after a year and a half as Director of YWCA's Women's Business Center where under her leadership, YWCA was given an Innovation & Excellence Award from the United States SBA for its work with women, minority and immigrant entrepreneurs. She is a long-time activist in the community, serving as a member of the Coalicion de Derechos Humanos, a community member of Calpoli Teoxicalli, and a member of Southern Arizona for Chicanos Por La Causa. Her efforts are to strive for excellence and promote empowerment in others.
