Every great university requires academic excellence and a constant investment in programs and people. Thanks to its vibrant culture, rich history and the collective generosity of our supporters, the Frances McClelland Institute has a vital future.  Every day we are passionate about our work and are committed to creating partnerships between the philanthropic goals of our donors -  from endowment gifts to scholarships -  and the Institute’s programs and priorities.  Our goal is to be a catalyst for cutting-edge research on children, youth, and families in Arizona and around the world.

Through fundraising and donations, the Institute has built the Lang Lab Children and Family Observation Lab - a state-of-the-art research facility with audio/visual and biophysical capabilities that is available for use by researchers affiliated with the Institute. The Institute is able to provide support in the form of space and outreach assistance to affiliated researchers and faculty, as well as to visiting scholars and post-doctoral students. Yet, there is so much more to do to support the educational and outreach mission of the Institute. For example, we regularly seek funds for community-building, outreach, student research projects and internships, and seed money for emerging research ideas that will attract external grants and endowments that will help sustain the Institute.

We would like to thank our legacy leaders who have supported the Frances McClelland Institute from its inception. These include:

  • Frances McClelland
  • Norm McClelland
  • Emerald Foundation
  • Shamrock Foods Company
  • Barry and Janet Lang
  • John and Ruth Crist Dyer
  • Beth and Ed Martin
  • Betty and Hamilton McRae
  • Beverly Mitchell
  • Linda Redmann
  • John and Tammy Underwood
  • Amy Jean Knorr
  • Pamela J. Turbeville

Private support is what launched the Frances McClelland Institute; your support has the ability to continue to transform the Institute into a premiere research Institute. Help us to achieve a legacy that improves the lives of children and families in Arizona and the world.

In Partnership,

Melissa A. Barnett, Ph.D.
