Research participants wanted; Monetary compensation provided

We are looking for heterosexual couples to participate in a study of relationships, emotion, and eating.

During this study couples will complete an online survey about their emotions, thoughts, and eating behaviors. Couples will then come to the Lang Laboratory at the University of Arizona where they will be videotaped talking together about their relationship and interviewed about their childhood. Height, weight, and physiological measures such as heart rate will be measured. Couples will also complete a brief set of questions twice a day for 10 days about eating, emotions, and their relationship and complete 4 short telephone interviews about their eating and activity during the past 24 hours. Finally, body weight, health, and relationship quality will be assessed during a brief visit to the university 6 months later. The total time required is approximately 12 hours spread over 6 months.

Monetary compensation will be provided.

  • To participate you must meet the following criteria:
  • You have been living with a romantic partner for less than 2 years.
  • Both you and your partner must participate.
  • Both of you must be over 18.
  • You must not have any children living with you.
