Coming Out Week 2014
Celebrate Coming out Week 2014, which features a variety of events on and off the University of Arizona campus, including resource fairs, workshops, speakers, films, Tucson Pride, and AIDSWalk. Be sure to check out the Out & Proud ad in the Daily Wildcat on Monday, October 13th, which is an annual project that collects and publishes the names of “out and proud” lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, asexual (LGBTQA) and allied members of the UA community—including students, faculty, staff, and alumni. This project is really at the heart of the purpose of National Coming Out Day. It gives members of the UA community a forum to publically “come out” and make our presence and our pride known to the campus, illuminating how we really are in every college and department across campus.
The month of October is LGBTQ History Month and is an important time to recognize the extraordinary national and international contributions of the LGBTQ community. Learn more about our history through Equality Forum. Each day in October Equality Forum will feature an icon with a video, biography, bibliography, downloadable images and other educational resources. The videos are offered without charge to educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, for profit companies and the public. For more information, please visit: www.lgbtHistoryMonth.com
