The Frances McClelland Practitioner Award is given to honor an individual who works directly with the Southern Arizona community on a day to day basis and works in the social services realm. The individual is committed to improving the well-being of children, youth, and families. The individual embodies the strength, dedication, vision and passion that Frances McClelland exhibited throughout her life. This award is for an individual who advocates to improve the lives of people in Southern Arizona and the world on a daily basis.
The community practitioner should have at least 3-5 years of established work experience and commitment to Frances’ legacy and vision of improving the lives of children, youth and families in Southern Arizona and the world.
Carrie L. Rednour a private attorney in Tucson, Arizona, where she focuses on estate planning, probate, guardianships, conservatorships, and elder law. She graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law in 2001. In 2006, she started her own law office called Rednour Law Offices, PLLC. Her passion is to help elderly and disabled individuals in the Tucson community with estate planning and adult guardianships. Since 2003, Carrie serves on a volunteer panel with the Southern Arizona Legal Aid. Along with running her practice, she volunteers pro bono (unpaid) at the Pima County Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division by coordinating a volunteer program that helps individuals obtain guardianship of their developmentally disabled relatives. She has taken six direct representation pro bono cases between 2004-2016. She often volunteers her time to teach minor guardianship classes and clinics. These clinics are one-on-one advice and assistance for low-income kinship providers (family members other than the biological parents) to get consent minor guardianships over children. Carrie is frequently asked to speak on estate planning, probate, long term care planning, and elder law to the community and other lawyers. In 2019, Carrie was recognized by the Arizona Bar Foundation as a Top 50 Pro Bono Attorney.
Like Frances McClelland, she is a member of many local boards and organizations in the community such as Pima County Bar Association, Arizona Women Lawyers Association (Steering Committee member 2003-present; President 2009; State Board Member 2009-present; Vice President 2015; President-Elect 2016; President 2017), State Bar of Arizona Mental Health and Elder Law (Chair 2008-2009), a past member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (Board member 2007-2008), Arizona Fiduciaries Association (Board member 2015-2017), Board of the Lohse Family YMCA, the Crisis Response Network of Southern Arizona, Board of Growth Partners Arizona, and CYT Tucson.
She also spends her free time with her family, including her two children.
