“BLACK LIFE MATTERS” CONFERENCE

Scholars, writers, artists, activists, policymakers, and community members will come together January 15-17, 2015, in Tucson, Arizona, to discuss WHY Black life matters and WHAT can be done about sustained, racialized state violence.
The conference will include lectures, hands-on working sessions, performances, and social justice actions, as well as significant time for conversation. The end of the conference will lead into planned Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities in Tucson, and visitors are invited to stay for these.
UA faculty –consider ways your classes might participate in the conference! This is an unprecedented opportunity for students to benefit from those joining us in Tucson.
