National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES)

• Notice of Intent (NOI) to be covered by a NPDES permit - Producers may wish to file an NOI as they current permit may be less stringent than the future permit.
• Sample Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan (CNMP) PDF file, 4,489 KB. This plan is an example of a conservation system developed for an Animal Feeding Operation (AFO). It contains both Best Management Practices Plan (BMPP) (a plan that is required for all operations that are covered by the NPDES permit) elements and Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) (a plan that is required for all operations that are covered by the NPDES permit and land apply solid or liquid manure) elements.
• Discharge/Spill Requirements for operations that are covered by the NPDES permit and have a discharge of manure and/or process waste water or a spill of toxic pollutants or hazardous substances
• Environmental Impact Document (EID) for newly established CAFOs or operations that are newly designated CAFOs
