Constructed Wetlands in Southern Arizona: CERF Facility, Wildlife in Raceway 6

The major purpose of the duckweek (Lemna sp.) shown in this picture is to filter secondary effluent before it enters the respective ecosystems at the Constructed Ecosystems Research Facility in Tucson, Arizona. However, as the photo also demonstrates, both the duckweed and the water it grows provide habitat attractive to wildlife.
