Forb Plant Description

Origin: Native   Life Cycle: Perennial   Similar Species: Perityle emoryi
General Desc: Low growing, clump-forming plant with many erect or pendulous stems. The daisy-like flowers are found loosely clustered at the ends of the stems.
Identification notes: This species is a forb/subshrub with pappus awns while P. emoryi is an annual without pappus awns.
Height: 6 to 12 inches

Habitat

Habitat Description: Rocky slopes.
Plant Communities: Interior Chaparral, Pinyon Juniper Woodland, Montane Conifer Forest
Elevation: 3000 - 7500 feet

Flower Characteristics

Color: White, yellow     Shape: Daisy or dandelion-like in clusters     Tubular: N     Flowering Period: Mar - Oct
Description: Each flower head has 6 to 10 white ray flowers with 30 to 40 yellow disc flowers at its center.
