General Desc:
Artemisia carruthii is rhizomatous and spreads in loose patches. It grows 2 to 3 feet tall, is very aromatic, and has leaves that are silvery and hairy with very narrow divisions. All parts of the plant are used medicinally by Native Americans. Identification notes: Leaves are deeply pinnately divided into narrow lobes, but are not filiform, hairy on the underside. The inner bracts of the flower head are without hairs. Height:

Habitat Description: This plant is found in a wide range of habitats: dry sandy soils, pinion juniper woodlands, grasslands, foothills, and near abandoned structures.
