Origin: Introduced Similar Species: Sambucus nigra ssp. caerulea, Sambucus nigra ssp. canadensis General Description: Deciduous. Multi-stemmed, fast growing shrub or small tree originating from Europe. Trunk diameter up to 12 inches. Identification notes: Shrub or small tree, often branching from the base.
