Water efficiency II: Rural areas and agriculture
In Figure 2a, water collected in a brass pitcher is being poured into a cloth-covered earthenware pitcher ("matka") to enable it to be cooled before drinking. The cloth filtration procedure will remove zooplankton and larger particulates. |
In Figure 2b, the mouth of the brass pitcher used to collect the water is covered with a cloth through which the use will drink, to reduce its turbidity. |
