The Deserts in Literature, II
These four pictures show exterior and interior views of San Agustín Cathedral, a beautiful and venerable building in downtown Tucson, loved by city residents both Hispanic and Anglo, Catholic and non-Catholic. Below left is a close-up of the entrance to the cathedral; below center, an interior view of a stand of many votive candles lit by the faithful; below right, a view of the cathedral's belltowers from the side and slightly behind the building, behind branches of ocotillo, a native plant of the Sonoran Desert. | ![]() |
