8.4 mi. S of Rayon (15.2 mi. N of Ures) on (unpaved) road from Rayon to Ures.

Setting Circumstances

Plants growing along small arroyo at base of low hills bordering small valley. Prosopis velutina, Acacia farnesiana, Celtis pallida, Ambrosia ambrosioides, and groves of Sabal uresana. Plants leafless, in full flower, with nearly mature pods.

Suffrutescent, many-stemmed shrubs to 1 m tall with many dead stems; once-pinnate leaves; showy pea-like, terra cota flowers. M. Johnson 90-016.
