Khami Road near Leopard Rock Nature Reserve, roadsides, ca. 20 km W of Bulawayo. Near 20°07'S x 28°26'E. Elev. ca. 1,370 m.

Setting Circumstances

On sandy soil derived from cyanite in grassy woodland w/ Acacia ataxacantha, Albizia harveyi, Burkea africana, Combretum spp., Dichrostachys cinerea, Grewia spp., Ormocarpum trichocarpum, Peltophorum africanum, Sclerocarya birrea.

Perennial shrublet to 40 cm, creeping/spreading stems from underground rootstock, dense infl. w/ magenta/rose flowers; hairy stems, wooly calyx.
