Leaves; Four to eight pairs of leaflets, each about 2/3 inch long, tend to fold up about half way during the heat of the day
Flowers: Violet or purple flowers, 5 petals and are 1/3 to 3/4 inch in diameter (March and April)
Fruit:
Heart-shaped capsule with shiny red seeds
Stems/Trunks: Stubby, gnarled branches grow densely upright into a dense canopy with short lateral
