Leaves: Large (4 to 6 inches long), wrinkled, deep gray-green, oval and pointed, hairs on the upper surfaces and on the veins below

Flowers: Bright blue and star-shaped with prominent black anthers

Fruit: Brown, small and nut like
Stems: Branched hollow and succulent

Range/Origin: Europe
Hardiness: Sunset Zones; A2,A3, 1-24, H1

Comments: No thorns, Does not transplant well, sow in place, mild cucumber taste
