Agribusiness Economics & Management

Management of the world's natural and human resources (land, people, food, water). Study agribusiness management, finance, economics, environmental regulation and quantitative techniques. Choose business management or agricultural economics.

Agricultural Technology Management & Education

Integration, application, and dissemination of knowledge in science, technical agriculture, and the principles/techniques of the teaching–learning process, communication, and leadership. Choose agricultural technology management, teaching, or leadership and communication.

Animal Sciences

Food safety, equine or dairy production, industry/production of animal systems, marketing, research/utilization of animals in agriculture, entertainment and companionship. Choose Animal Industry, Equine, Science and Pre-Professional or Race Track Industry.

Applied Biotechnology

Find ways to use living cells and biological processes to develop products and technologies to feed and clothe a growing population and fight disease. You may choose to specialize in applied biotechnology, food and beverage fermentation, or industrial plant and microbial biotechnology.

Biosystems Analytics & Technology

Use emerging technology to influence the sustainable development of food, water, and energy resources. Study new technologies in cyber infrastructure development, precision agriculture, and water management.

Biosystems Engineering

Integrate engineering, mathematics and biology to design soil and water resource management systems and design biomedical and biological innovations. Focus on intentional use of energy, materials, biochemicals and recyclables. Choose water resource engineering or biological engineering.

Environmental Science

Integrate biology, ecology, chemistry, physics and agriculture with the study of environmental quality of land; courses in law, political science, economics and safety. Choose land and water, environmental microbiology, environmental health sciences, environmental systems or environmental biology.

Environmental & Water Resource Economics

Prepares students for careers in natural resource and environmental management. Training in economic, social, and physical aspects of environmental problems. You are encouraged to minor in a complementary field such as political science, watershed management, or soil and water science.

Human Development & Family Science

Establish a foundation in family/interpersonal processes and human development across the life span. Complementary courses provide a background in social, behavioral, and biological sciences, as well as career-enhancing skills in research, writing, communication, and program planning/evaluation.

Fashion Industry's Science & Technology

Become a leader in the global fashion market. You’ll learn how to combine strategic thinking with the latest innovations in science and technology. This major may be a good fit for you if you’re interested in design, consumer trends, and sustainable fashion.

Microbiology

Focus on microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae, parasites, protozoans, etc. Learn about diseases and how microbes interact with environment and host organisms. Natural Resources

Learn physical, biological and social sciences to protect and manage natural resources. Conservation Biology; Wildlife or Fisheries Conservation & Management; Ecology, Management & Restoration of Rangelands; Watershed Management & Ecohydrology; Global Change Ecology & Management.

Nutrition & Food Systems

Explore the impact of the food system on human health. You'll examine production challenges, cultural influences that shape cuisine, and the relationship between food security, nutrition, and overall health as you seek to better manage the food supply chain.

Nutrition & Human Performance

Optimize the heath, physical performance, and qualify of life for people throughout their lifespan. You'll study the role of nutrition and activity, and how both enhance human performance, promote healthy aging, and help prevent chronic diseases.

Nutritional Sciences

Combine medicine, food chemistry, cell biology, and biochemistry, and focus on nutrition and foods in health/disease for humans. Choose either dietetics and become a registered dietitian (RD) or nutrition and prepare for careers in the food/food supplement industries and nutrition research.

Personal & Family Financial Planning

Help individuals and families achieve their financial goals. You'll study investment planning, savings strategies, estate planning, retirement and family income strategies, risk management, income tax planning and standards for professional conduct.

Plant Sciences

Training in fundamental sciences, customized with electives in fields like genetics, genomics, development, biotechnology, plant pathology, environmental horticulture and sustainable agriculture. Optional research training prepares students for post-graduate studies and careers.

Precision Nutrition & Wellness

Revolutionize our approach to nutrition, health, and wellness. Apply the latest technology to assess the risk of developing illnesses like cancer and cardiovascular disease and to test possible diet and exercise changes using genetic and lifestyle markers.

Retailing & Consumer Science

Retail marketing of products and services to consumers. Examine marketing and management principles applied across a spectrum of national and global businesses including store, catalog, internet and service firms that support these retailers. One of the few 4-year undergraduate retailing programs nationally.

Sustainable Plant Systems

Solid foundation in modern agriculture and crop production: field crop, permanent tree crop production, and/or a broad array of horticultural crops that are grown throughout the western United States and other regions in the world. Fundamentals derived can be applied to crop production systems and soil and water management anywhere in the world.

Veterinary Science

Explore human–animal relationships, animal reproduction and care of animal populations. Curriculum includes chemistry, physics, microbiology, anatomy, physiology and immunology, as well as classes on diseases and their causes. Other electives include nutrition, animal management and production, business and histology.
