Tour 4: Visiting Distributed Learning Sites |
-- a university of arizona
course on methods and approaches for studying the future
|
Distributed Learning covers many activities. It can be thought of as combing all types of learning (in the classroom, independent study, working in groups, internships, field campus, on-line courses) and in all ways (everyone present at one time or joining with others as some times, or working independently).
The term commonly is used as a synonym of "distance education", but it is much broader. Here are a few examples.
Distance Learning Resources
NLII - National Learning Infrastructure
Initiative
California Virtual University
ADLNet - Advanced Distributed Learning Network
CU Online Gateway (University of Colorado
Campuses)
American Distance Education Association (ADEC)
The World Lecture Hall (gateway
to a number of on-line courses)
