Seminar 3: The Futures Literature
-- a university of arizona course on methods and approaches for studying the future

Introduction

The advent of Internet has changed the face of information management, and you need to be both flexible and knowledgeable in how to use Internet (see guide on class web page). The Internet allows access to information not available through other sources but also acts as a conduit to existing sources of information. Both type are reviewed briefly. A tutorial on information searching is available from the University of Arizona Library (Research Instruction Online) - http://dizzy.library.arizona.edu/rio/.

See the class search page for suggestions on searching and a list of Internet search techniques. http://ag.arizona.edu/futures/search.html

A listing of futures specific information sources is listed on the class home page "Futures Related Sites and References". Journal with a specific futures focus are listed below.

Selected Futures Focused Journals

There are several "futures journals" but there are also many journals for other subjects that have a futures component or address futures issues as part of the information developed for the journal's specific subject areas.
