Sugar rush for moths!

Dr. Goggy Davidowitz, Associate Professor of Entomology, his former postdoc Eran Levin, and Bentley Fane, Professor of Plant Sciences, have a paper Science entitled "Hawkmoths use nectar sugar to reduce oxidative damage from flight.” The work demonstrates how processing sugar via the pentose phosphate pathway reduces damage to the moths' flight muscles.
