Results of pheromone and sticky trap catches can be viewed
here. Corn earworm: Moth activity fairly normal for this time of the year, but lower overall compared to last season at this time. Beet armyworm: Moth activity was comparable to catches this time last season; trap catches varied across locations with activity greatest in Texas Hill. Cabbage looper: Cabbage looper activity was overall generally low. Whitefly: Adults captures on sticky traps have been seasonably low in all traps, with highest numbers in trap in Wellton in field adjacent to cotton. Thrips: Thrips activity was seasonally low at all trap locations. Aphids: We have caught no aphids this season thus far. Typically we begin to see aphids show up with the change in wind direction from the E-NE in October. Leafminers: Adult activity is seasonably low in all locations, but much lower insome locations compared with last season at this time. Diamondback moth: DBM captures have been relatively light in all trapping location compared with last fall. Overall, most adult activity has been associated with cauliflower transplants in Roll and Tacna. DBM activity in the Yuma Valley and Bard/Winterhaven has been negligible.
