Areawide Insect Trapping Network (February 21, 2017)
Results of pheromone and sticky trap catches can be viewed here.

Corn earworm: Moth activity remains at seasonal low levels in most trap locations, but activity picked up in the Wellton trap.

Beet armyworm: Overall armyworm moth activity remains low, but is starting to pick up in traps located in Roll and Wellton.

Cabbage looper: Similarly, cabbage looper moth activity is beginning to increase.

Whitefly: Adult movement remains at seasonal low levels, with light movement in the North Yuma Valley.

Thrips: Thrips movement increased slightly in some locations in the Yuma valley.

Aphids: Significant increases in aphid flights were recorded in traps last week in the Yuma Valley.

Leafminers: Adult movement picked up a bit in some traps in the Yuma Valley and Dome Valley, but overall numbers caught are still low.

Diamondback moth: Moth activity increased in all traps and particularly in traps located in the Yuma Valley. Traps located in Wellton and Gila Valley also spiked significantly.
