Areawide Insect Trapping Network (February 8, 2017)
Results of pheromone and sticky trap catches can be viewed here.

Corn earworm: Moth activity remains at seasonal low levels in all trap locations.

Beet armyworm: Armyworm moth activity remains very low, consistent with the winter weather and cool nighttime temperatures.

Cabbage looper: Similarly, cabbage looper moth activity remains seasonably low, similar to activity recorded this time last year.

Whitefly: Adult movement remains at seasonal low levels.

Thrips: Thrips movement increased slightly in some locations in the Yuma valley.

Aphids: Aphid flights picked up again on some traps in last week in the Yuma Valley close to the rivers.

Leafminers: Adult movement picked up a bit in some traps in the Yuma Valley and Wellton, but overall numbers caught are still low.

Diamondback moth: Moth activity remained higher than normal in two traps in the Yuma Valley, but remained low in many trap locations in the Gila Valley, Wellton and Roll.
