Results of pheromone and sticky trap catches can be viewed
here. Corn earworm: Moth activity remains at seasonal low levels in all trap locations. Beet armyworm: Armyworm moths remain and were averaging less than 1 moth / trap per night. Should remain low until warmer nighttime temperatures pick up in the spring. Cabbage looper: Similarly, cabbage looper moth activity remains seasonably low, but activity should increase with warmer weather in the next few weeks. Whitefly: Adult movement is still being measured in some locations, but remains at seasonal lows last week. Thrips: Thrips movement is continuing to subside in in all locations, likely a result rain and cooler weather over the past few weeks. Aphids: Aphid flights picked up again on some traps in last week in the Yuma Valley close to the rivers. We also actively picking up green peach aphids in those traps. Leafminers: Adult movement picked up a bit in some traps in the Yuma and Gila valleys. Diamondback moth: Moth activity remained unusually high and steady in several trap locations in the Yuma Valley. The trap located on C. 9th st. caught 5X more DBM moths than similar traps in 2000. Activity beginning to increase in traps in Wellton and the Gila Valley.
