Areawide Insect Trapping Network (September 14, 2016)
Results of pheromone and sticky trap catches can be viewed here.

Corn earworm: Moth activity was normal for the past two weeks with the exception of one location in the Yuma Valley (Ave. G and Co. 20th) where activity was extremely heavy. This trap was placed adjacent to alfalfa.

Beet armyworm: Trap catches varied across locations with activity greatest in Roll (Co.4 and 39E) and in the Yuma Valley (Co. 20 and Ave G; Co 14 and Levee).

Cabbage looper: Cabbage looper activity was overall generally low, but captures were greater than this time last year in Tacna and Yuma Valley.

Whitefly: Adults captures on sticky traps continue were low seasonably low with the exception of a trap located at Co. 12 and Ave F.

Thrips: Thrips activity was seasonally low at all trap locations.

Aphids: As expected, no aphids have been detected on traps yet.

Leafminers: Adult activity is generally low in most locations, but activity increase considerably on traps in Wellton and south Yuma Valley.
