Results of pheromone and sticky trap catches can be viewed
here. Corn earworm: A noticeable spike in moth activity was observed this past week, particularly in traps located in Roll, Wellton and Dome Valley. Beet armyworm: After a couple of weeks of low beet armyworm activity, trap catches are on the increase consistent with the warmer weather. Cabbage looper: Similarly, captures of cabbage looper moths increased significantly in some locations over the past two weeks. Whitefly: Adults captures on sticky traps remain at seasonal low levels. Thrips: Thrips movement was noticeably higher in the past 2 weeks consistent with warmer weather and shrinking lettuce acreage. Aphids: Noticeable spikes in alate (winged) aphids were observed last week. Green peach aphids were the prominent species identified on traps. Leafminers: A slight increase in adults on traps was observed in several locations.
