Corn earworm: Corn earworm moth activity remains very low with very few captures in the traps and very similar to trends observed last year. Beet armyworm: BAW activity is still relatively active in some locations, particularly compared in areas near alfalfa. Cabbage looper: Cabbage looper moths remain active as well, similar to trends seen last January. Whitefly: Adult movement remains very low which is to be expected. However, adults can readily be found on seedling melons in the Yuma Valley. Thrips: Thrips movement has begun to increase, particularly in the Yuma Valley and Wellton. Leafminers: Numbers on traps remain low across all trap locations. Aphids: Alate (winged) movement remains low with a slight peak last week in the Yuma Valley near the river.
