The Yuma IPM TEAM received weed samples for ID from the Parker and Yuma Mesa areas.
The plants presented linear leaves with bright yellow flowers. Plants were no more
than 1.0 foot high. When plants are crushed a very strong aroma is released. We
identified this as Manybristle Chinchweed (Pectis papposa) also called Desert Chinchweed.
Spanish name is Manzanilla del Coyote. Thanks for your questions and comments! Desert USA, September 2, 201 https://www.desertusa.com/flowers/Chinchweed.html
