Oral Presentation Outline

The goal of oral presentations is to select a topic in any area of Biotechnology that interests you, research the topic extensively, develop a PowerPoint/multimedia presentation and present a 15-minute lecture on the topic to the class.  Your presentation will contribute 100 points toward your final grade.  The information about the topic should be current. Resources for developing your topic can be quite varied. There is no excuse for being unprepared. A topic will have to be selected by Oct 8, 2002.

You are required to write a one-page summary (~500 words) of the topic. This is to be turned in 2 class periods before the day of your presentation. I will make copies for the class. Attached to the summary should be a list of resources (journal citations, books, internet URLs, etc.) that were used to develop the lecture.

Below are several ideas to help organize your talk.  All or some of these may be applicable depending upon your topic.

Define your topic and its significance in research or industrial applications.
